Family Pictures
Hearthside Family Pets is no big company or pet store. We are the McGregor's, who live on Wall Road, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. We are just a mile south of the city limits on 34 acres of land. We came up with the name, Hearthside Family Pets, because we love sitting in front of the fireplace, brushing our dogs, spending time together, and we want you to have a very nice pet from our family - to your family. Our goal here at Hearthside, is to raise quality pets for families anywhere we can safely send them. By quality, we mean puppies that bond easily with their new owners - because they have been loved on and snuggled with from day one. They are very healthy, and are ALL taken to our vet for a check up during their 6th week of age. We don't wait until just before scheduled to leave, we like making sure our puppies are as healthy as they look. They also have parents that are super good representatives of their breed. We have picked out Cocker Spaniels with great bloodlines, great conformation, great coats and coloring.
We do not want to add to the multitude of poorly bred dogs, of any breed.
So, we have been choosy.
We also want our puppies to be intelligent, and to be well socialized.
We spend a lot of time with our puppies, sitting/laying on the floor, and playing with them. We provide toys for them to play with, doggy doors - they learn to use before leaving here -
and lots of room for them to play in.
Our puppies are not raised in wire cages, but on regular ground and regular inside flooring. We have been learning a lot as we go along, and know that there is plenty still to learn. We learned grooming, and have our own groom shop for our dogs only. All puppies get bathed, brushed, trimmed, etc. It is just part of the growing up here at Hearthside.
We want our adult dogs to have a wonderful life too.
We have put together lots of agility equipment for our dogs to play and romp on. They all get exercise time everyday. If we go to the park, I almost always have one of our dogs with us, for a nice walk on a leash.
Our Romper Room - the puppy house - has big cubicles for mama's and their babies. It is their own very homey and comfortable place. Yes, this is a business, but it is like home-made cooking - we stamp each one of our puppies with lots of love and kisses. We are doing what we love, and love what we are doing. I rather tend to ramble, but hope you get the idea. If you choose to adopt a puppy from us, you will get a puppy raised by people who care. We have our own personal groom shop, no puppy leaves here without experiencing a tender loving groom, usually several times. Cocker babies get Cocker cuts, Poodle babies get a poodle face, and we put the clippers under their feet, to get them used to having their feet done. All puppies have nails clipped, baths, hair trimmed - where needed. |
